Rich History
We want to take you down a journey of two roads. The first is the story of the magnificent Superfoods and plants that provide you with some pretty impressive health benefits. The other starts at a small health clinic, tucked away in Southern California.
The history of our Superfood begins with the cultures and tribes who started to rely on them hundreds and sometimes, thousands of years ago. Found growing in lava flows, Amazon jungles, barren, icy ridges or the valleys of Mongolia and Tibet, Superfoods have evolved into a vital source of robust nutrition. Their ability to flourish among the harshest conditions on earth became their hallmark. For the people who relied on these foods for survival, they became part of their history and tales of their potency are legendary.
A poem dating back 2,000 years tells of the age-defying legacy of the Goji berry, nicknamed “The Happy Berry”, who’s red fruit graced the walls of an ancient well. Known to be a famine food to the indigenous Indians, Acaí berries have saved thousands of lives for hundreds of years. Mongolian Sea Buckthorn berries fed the war horses and soldiers of the infamous Genghis Kahn. These accounts and many more have been passed along through generations of healers, farmers, shamans and families who retain most of the wisdom surrounding these ancient plants.
This is what brings us to our juices. Back in 1988, a young Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Nutritionist named Lindsey Duncan quietly began practicing his life’s work: Teaching People How to Heal Themselves. He discovered that if his clients followed his health protocols, they would improve. Stories of his ability as a healer traveled the country. His clinic became one of the most renowned in the world and he has since accrued over 40,000 clinical hours of research, one person at a time.
In the 1990’s, Dr. Lindsey embarked on a quest for a potent, bitter fruit from the South Pacific Islands: Noni. Story after story of a “miracle fruit” had reached his clinic and he wanted to learn more. After spending time studying with the shamans, he returned with a few bottles of a 100% pure, dark, robust juice, made according to local tradition. Its powerful flavor overpowered some, but most understood that this was an “old medicine.” The attributes of the humble Noni fruit awakened in him the search to find other hidden gems among the folktales of the ancient healers from all corners of Mother Earth.
Over and over, Dr. Lindsey would be led to yet another locale, such as the valleys of Mongolia for the Sea Buckthorn berry, or the flood plains of the Brazilian rainforest for the potent Acaí berry, or the ancient Mangosteen groves of Thailand, to fulfill his quest to explore another local legend.
We continue to make regular trips to farms in Thailand, Northern Mongolia, Korea, Tibet, the plains of China, and the Amazon rainforests to source our Superfoods.

Clinical Roots
Our founder and CEO, Dr. Lindsey Duncan, ND, CN opened his small nutritional clinic in 1988 in Santa Monica, California. He quickly became one of the foremost practitioners of Naturopathy in the country, even helping victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the Ukraine. Dr. Lindsey client list included celebrities, athletes, musicians, models and politicians, all of them waiting between 12 – 18 months for an appointment. As successful as this clinic became, he could still consult with only a single person at a time.
True to his mission, Dr. Lindsey sought a way where he could offer his expertise to as many people as he could. With this objective in mind, he created Genesis Today. With over 40,000 clinical hours behind every product, he can now share his health knowledge to millions of people every day. You might know some of the people he’s counseled, who include Heisman winner Tony Dorsett and fashion icon Marc Jacobs.
